Often
uses her skills as a piano player in many of her
film roles. |

Alicia
Witt's mother has the world book of records record for
the longest hair ever. She learned to read
by the age of 6 months and at the age of 2 she wrote a
letter to Good Housekeeping magazine and
was published as their youngest reader ever. She was a
child genius and by the age of 14 she had
her high school diploma. She began her acting career at
the age of 9 when she appeared in the
epic film, Dune.

|
Her
big break came when she was cast as the character Zoey
in the CBS sitcom, Cybill. During her
film and television career she has taken roles that help
her break out of her child prodigy
type-cast. That is why she took roles such as the one
in Mr. Holland's Opus where she had to
play music badly. When in fact at the age of 6 she was
winning contests for music. She also
wants to escape the stigma of having the worlds longest
hair so she cuts her hair short and
wears wigs and has quite a collection.
