Born
in England but raised in Canada, Amanda got her start
at the University of Windsor’s drama program. She
has preformed in many theatre productions, including titles
like "Steel Magnolias”, "Children of a
Lesser God", and "Look Back In Anger".
Amanda also had a hand in comedy, and helped form a Canadian
comedy troop “Random Acts”. Amanda got into
television in 1995 with her involvement in the production
entitled "Degree of Guilt". Though the 1990s
and into the new millennium Amanda has hammered out a
career for herself in the entertainment industry. She
has made appearances on shows like “The X-Files”,
“Due South”, “Forever Knight”,
and “Kung-Fu: The Legend Continues”.
Amanda made her film debut in the production of “What
Kind of Mother Are You?” in 1996. Since that year
she has added many more movies to her credit. Amanda is
currently involved in directing a documentary herself,
and is also involved in an organization called “Women
in Film & Video”..

Though
her career though, Amanda is most likely known to hundreds
of Science Fiction fans as the long running character
Samantha Carter on the long running television series
“Stargate SG-1”. Amanda is the only "Stargate
SG-1" regular who did not meet and work with the
shows lead, Richard Dean Anderson, before the series began.
Amanda has also participated in her first U.S.O. tour
in the Middle East.
