Amy
Jo Johnsons' hobbies include playing guitar, painting
and playing with her pit bull
"Lucy" She was raised in Cape Cod, Massachusetts
and is a small town girl. She has always
wanted to perform. Amy Jo developed a taste for public
attention when she travelled all over
the world as a gymnast until she was the age of 17. She
honed her acting skills in community
theater and while studying a New York's American Musical
Dramatic Academy after graduating
from high school.
Two years later, she moved to California. Her first
professional job was
a perfect fit since, as one of the "Mighty Morphin
Power Rangers," Johnson was able to
combine both her athletic and acting talents. After
2 1/2 years on the phenomenal hit series
and two major motion pictures, Johnson was ready to
stretch her talent in new projects. She
left the series and immersed herself in classes and
theater, including a production of "Much
Ado About Nothing" at Pasadena's Knight Bridge
Theater.
Ensuing parts were dramatic, including the television
movie "Killing Mr. Griffin" about a
group of high school students who kidnap their teacher
and "Perfect Body" in which she
starred as an anorexic gymnast. Equally as passionate
and determined about music as she is
about acting, Johnson also performs as lead singer and
guitarist with her band, Valhalla.
Additionally, she loves to paint with oil and acrylics
and enjoys taking her American Pit
Bull "Lucy" to the set with her. She lives
in Los Angeles.
