Groomed
from childhood to be an actress, Marisa attended Edward
R. Murrow High School and graduated the class of 1982.
She dropped out of Boston University to get a co-starring
role on the CBS daytime drama "As the World Turns".
In 1984 she made her film debut with a bit part in “The
Flamingo Kid”. In 1987 Marisa would get the first
of her landmark roles, as the character Maggie (playing
beside Lisa Bonet, former Cosby Kid) in the “the
Cosby Show” spin off “A Different World”.

Her
big break came in 1992 when she co-starred with Joe Pesci
in “My Cousin Vinny”. Film work that followed
included such projects as “Chaplin” in 1992,
“Untamed Heart” in 1993, and “Unhook
the Stars” in 1996. In 1998 Marisa did what some
of the critics have called her best work in years as the
sexually liberated character in the “Slums of Beverly
Hills”. The new millennium saw Marisa co-starred
with Mel Gibson in the hugely successful romantic comedy
What Women Want in 2000. Marisa’s career is in full
swing and she is developing a serious relationship with
performing, now far away from her “teen idol”
days in the 1980s.
