When
she came out of the sea bikini-clad, in the first James
Bond film, Dr. No she set a trend for all Bond Girls for
the rest of eternity; she didn’t realize it but
she provided the swinging sixties with its splashy equivalent
of “The Blue Lagoon”. Originally from Switzerland,
a country that produces more than its share of beautiful
woman, Ursula had appeared in several racy-for-their-time
Italian pictures beginning with 1950s.

Her
stoic beauty-and the Bond notoriety propelled her career
in the 1960s, but she wasn’t exclusively Hollywood’s
girl. Though out the 1970s she would bounce across the
Atlantic to make films of all kinds and even star in a
few made-for -TV movies that would make her a known and
appreciated name. In the 1980s she would make films like
“Clash of The Titans” but it wasn’t
to be. Like so many other flowers imported from the Europe,
her appeal to American audiences exhausted, Ursula would
have to work for the rest on her own.
